I just wanted to thank the whole Tumblr community for being absolutely great and while we do have our ups and downs, I still appreciate the enthusiasm and support that has lightened up my days! I’ve been seeing many giveaways recently and I thought I would just provide more chances.

In A Scandal In Belgravia, Mrs. Hudson has to yell to get Sherlock and John’s attention. If they were on the same floor as her (which we know they aren’t, as she’s shown walking through the apparently empty flat before entering the kitchen), she wouldn’t have to yell. The way she lifts her head as she does so is further indication that not only are they on another floor, but that they are in fact on the floor above her.

The only rooms that we, as viewers, know are on the main floor are the kitchen, the living room, and Sherlock’s bedroom. So what could possibly be upstairs?

“There’s another bedroom upstairs if you’ll be needing two bedrooms.” -Mrs. Hudson (to John), A Study In Pink.

Assuming John has his own room, it is on the floor above. Scriptwriters Moffat and Gatiss have given us no reason to believe that there are other rooms upstairs, and therefore, unless that is the case, the only possible room that Sherlock and John could be in is— you guessed it— John’s bedroom.

But certainly they’re just doing some research up there. Of course.

but this theory has its advantages too
